Dilini grew up in Australia, where she qualified as a lawyer and a medical doctor. She passed the California Bar Exam within months of moving to the USA and is now a proud resident of Huntington Beach.
Dilini fell in love with California as a medical student during a summer rotation with the Los Angeles Coroner’s Department. She graduated from Monash University (a top 5 Australian university) with degrees in Medicine and Law with First Class Honors. Dilini completed her medical internship in Melbourne, with rotations in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery, Stroke and Acute Psychiatry. The following year, Dilini was accepted into specialist OBGYN training with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RANZCOG). She is still an active Diplomate of the college.
Dilini also worked as a forensic doctor with the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine in Melbourne. It was here that she discovered her passion for working in an area where medicine and the law intersect. Inspired by her work and her colleagues, Dilini completed a Master of Forensic Medicine at Monash University while juggling her demanding OBGYN clinical commitments. It was only a matter of time before she realized that she could combine her love of sunny California with the opportunity to work amongst global leaders in medicolegal practice.
Dilini thrives in the Huntington Beach office at El Dabe Law Firm, where she applies her skills in medical litigation for the benefit of each of her clients. As an Australian who was blessed with a system of universal healthcare, she is always ready to fight for the right of injured victims to full access to medical treatment.
Dilini first joined the El Dabe team in 2014 and she has never looked back. When she is not at work, you will usually find Dilini unwinding at sunset beach yoga, just steps from the Huntington Beach office.
